This show that show this band that band the ocean of culture to consume is bottomless; the days are long but the hours are short and your friend told you to watch such and such show that you had never heard of. And then a new movie is coming out this weekend that is a sequel to another movie which you saw like a decade ago and kind of remember some details about but really sort of kind of.
But if you were to join said friend to watch said show, you would just be a filthy casual. Not even a real fan. Because you did not spend hour after hour investing yourself in unraveling such and such's back story or engaging the fandom in armchair-armchair theorizing. But you're a fun guy. Not a mushroom. A real social individual. So, swimming in some confusion is necessary;
With a tinge of envy, you turn from your tablet screen towards the mosque across the street. Well, they at least know that their book is from the last prophet; no sequels to wait for. A Mormon man on a bicycle passing by gives you a wink. Don't know what means. You can hear a small Bible study group from a couple of booths over discussing a passage from the book of Romans. Yeah but I wanna choose what I read and watch—that's where my freedom is ™️
